Acciona Energia to supply renewable energy to Violas Group in Portugal



Acciona Energia is all set to supply renewable energy to a Portuguese company Violas Group.

The company has signed renewable energy power purchase agreement with Violas for 10 years.

As per the agreement, Acciona Energia will supply over 55,000 megawatt hours of renewable electricity annually to the company in Portugal.

The clean electricity will be supplied to the group's subsidiaries like Solverde, Clip and Cotesi.

Manuel Violas, president of Grupo Violas was quoted in a statement, "This contract is part of our commitment to sustainability and the decarbonization of our business. Our subsidiaries are implementing a wide variety of programs to reduce the ecological footprint of their activity, such as Cotesi's internal system to reintroduce 100% of production waste into new products, and its R+D initiatives to reduce the use of plastic."

Similarly, Alexandre Kisslinger, Director of Acciona Energia in Portugal, commented, “This long-term contract represents competitive advantages for our client, as it offers price stability at a time when the market is very volatile and makes a major contribution to its climate objectives.”

According to Acciona Energia, it has 166MW of renewable generation assets in Portugal. This includes both wind and solar installations with 16 wind farms and the largest PV plants in the Iberian Peninsula.
