Alpex Solar has announced its plans to double its PV module production capacity to 2.4 GW by the FY26

Solar solutions provider Alpex Solar has announced plans to double its photovoltaic (PV) module production capacity to 2.4 GW by the fiscal year 2025-26. The company will establish a new 1.2 GW solar PV module production facility on recently acquired land in Kosi Kotwan, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. Alpex Solar is exploring entry into solar cell manufacturing at a gigawatt-scale, furthering its integration within the solar energy supply chain.

This expansion will be financed through a combination of internal accruals and loans. Once operational, the new facility will enable Alpex to meet increasing demand both in India and international markets. The company also plans to integrate solar cell production, leveraging its expertise in PV modules and aluminum frames.

Ashwani Sehgal, Managing Director of Alpex Solar, highlighted the strategic benefits of entering solar cell manufacturing, including cost efficiency, increased profitability, and enhanced brand positioning. This move will also allow the company to offer comprehensive turnkey solutions to its customers.

The company has nearly completed its current solar PV module expansion, with 900 MW already operational and an additional 300 MW set to be completed in the next three months. This will bring the total capacity to 1.2 GW by Q3 FY2025.

Alpex Solar is also in the process of acquiring a 17,846.63 sq/mtr land parcel in Kosi Kotwan, adjacent to its existing facility, valued at approximately Rs 7 crore, as part of its future growth plans.
