Aquila Clean Energy has begun construction on two new solar plants in Valladolid and Almería, Spain, adding 54.5 MW of clean energy capacity.
These projects, which will have peak power capacity of 17 MW and 37.5 MW respectively, will produce energy to supply more than 26,596 households annually and avoid the potential emission of 26,160 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.
This marks another significant step in the company's commitment to sustainable energy. As part of its environmental strategy, Aquila Clean Energy will implement various measures, including vegetation screens, bird population monitoring, and conservation programs for endangered plant species. Additionally, the company will install pollinator shelters and nesting boxes for wildlife.
In the social sphere, the company is promoting local employment through training initiatives in solar plant installation and maintenance. It is also collaborating with the Talento 58 Foundation to encourage regional entrepreneurship.
These efforts align with Aquila Clean Energy's broader vision, having already developed 12 operational projects in Spain with over 400 MW of capacity. The company is also advancing projects totaling 4 GW in solar, wind, and battery storage technologies, further demonstrating its commitment to the energy transition and sustainable development.
