The first is planned to the north-east of Madrid, with a capacity of 6 MWp. The other project called “Sant Fruitós” with a power of 3 MWp is located in the province of Barcelona. The company, active in wind power and biomass, is awaiting building permits to start work.
Belgian developer Aspiravi, which so far has assets in biomass and wind power, will build its very first two photovoltaic projects in Spain. The first is located in Valladolid, a region northeast of Madrid, where the “Erica” project will be built with a capacity of 6 MWp. The other project called “Sant Fruitós” with a power of 3 MWp is located in the province of Barcelona.
For both projects, the EPC contract was awarded to two construction companies, whose names were not specified, selected late last year and administrative building permits were obtained last January. Building permits from the municipal councils of Valladolid and Sant Fruitós are still awaited to begin the actual construction work.
In these two projects, citizens and local businesses will have the opportunity to co-invest up to 25% by providing collective loans through a crowdlending platform monitored and controlled by the Spanish National Securities Market Commission securities (CNMV).
Aspiravi currently has an installed capacity of 1,701.8 MW worldwide, distributed between 244 onshore wind turbines, 172 offshore wind turbines and two biomass power plants. It is active in Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Scotland and on the island of Curaçao, an autonomous state within the Kingdom of the Netherlands off the coast of Venezuela. In France, its developing portfolio represents around 200 MW of green energy. Its facilities are developed in partnership with 94 Belgian shareholder municipalities which have shares in its project companies.
