Better Energy’s Lidköping Solar Park, located in Sweden's Västra Götaland region, is set to generate 24 GWh of renewable energy annually, powering around 4,800 homes.
It is the country’s second-largest solar park, following the grid connection of the Studsvik Solar Park in October 2024, which is expected to produce 25 GWh annually.
Together, these projects contribute nearly 50 MW of solar capacity in Sweden for 2024. Better Energy, which develops and operates solar parks across Northern Europe, collaborated closely with local communities to ensure environmental sustainability for both projects.
Andreas Brännström, Managing Director of Better Energy Sweden, commented, “In 2024, we launched Sweden’s two largest solar parks, significantly boosting the country’s renewable energy supply. These projects highlight the growing importance of solar energy in Sweden’s energy mix.”
The Lidköping project also aligns with Sweden’s focus on multifunctional land use, utilizing surplus land at Hovby Airport through a strategic partnership with Lidköping Municipality.
