Cypark, Jakel Capital, and Melaka Corporation Join Forces to Power German Tech Park with 1,000 MW Solar Energy

A major renewable energy agreement has been forged between Cypark Resources Berhad (Cypark), Melaka Corporation, and Jakel Capital, aiming to deliver 1,000 MW of solar energy to the German Technology Park (GTP) in Melaka. This ambitious project forms part of a strategic plan to transform the GTP into a state-of-the-art, sustainable industrial hub over the next five to seven years.

The Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) signing represents a key milestone in Malaysia's shift towards green energy, with a projected investment of RM4 billion.

The plan integrates solar power infrastructure with advanced energy management technologies, including battery storage systems, ensuring a consistent and efficient energy supply for GTP’s future industrial occupants.

The GTP is expected to emerge as a leading example of sustainable industrial development, benefitting from the adoption of renewable energy systems and modern energy solutions. This initiative not only bolsters Malaysia's renewable energy goals but also reinforces its position as a regional leader in sustainable growth.

Under the consortium agreement, Jakel Capital will hold a majority 51% stake, Cypark will maintain a 29% share, and Melaka Corporation will control 20%. Additionally, Jakel Capital also holds a significant 21.47% stake in Cypark, reinforcing its investment in the renewable energy sector.

Commenting on the project, Cypark Executive Chair Datuk Ami Moris said, “This partnership marks a significant milestone for us at Cypark, as we continue to lead the way in renewable energy solutions and sustainable development in Malaysia. With Melaka Corporation and Jakel Capital by our side, we are confident that the German Technology Park will set a new benchmark for innovation and sustainability in Malaysia."

The German Technology Park will serve a broad range of industries, combining green energy practices with cutting-edge manufacturing processes. The integration of 1,000 MW of solar power will significantly reduce the park's carbon footprint, contributing to both local and global efforts to combat climate change and promote technological advancement.

This groundbreaking partnership reflects Cypark’s ongoing commitment to leading renewable energy projects in Southeast Asia, further accelerating Malaysia’s clean energy transition and sustainable development.
