Denmark and India Explore Collaboration in Renewable Energy



Danish Minister of Climate, Energy and Utilities, Lars Aagaard, is on a visit to India as part of the delegation led by Crown Prince of Denmark, Frederik André Henrik Christian. Speaking at a round table conference focused on energy, the minister discussed the possibility of collaboration between Indian and Danish companies in the field of renewable energy.


He highlighted India’s ambitious plan to have 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030 and net zero by 2070, and stated that firms from both countries can collaborate in a big way in the renewable energy space.


Talking to PTI on the sidelines of the round table conference, The minister also mentioned that Danish companies have a strong connection with renewable energy, particularly wind energy onshore and offshore.


He added that Danish firms can help Indian companies in the areas of producing green hydrogen and energy efficiency, and both sides can collaborate on a commercial basis in these areas.


At the government level, Denmark is working with Indian authorities to provide insights on integrating large volumes of renewables and developing the electricity market and grid.
