DRI, the EU renewables division of Ukraine's DTEK, has announced plans to develop a 120 MW onshore wind farm in Croatia, its third project in the country. The Ljubovo wind farm, located in Lika-Senj County, is expected to generate 349 GWh annually. Construction is planned to begin in 2027.
DRI has already secured a preliminary grid access point from HOPS, Croatia's national Transmission System Operator, and filed for energy approval with the Ministry of Economy. CEO Ivan Geliukh emphasized that the Ljubovo wind farm would showcase DRI’s expertise in engineering, construction, and operations, furthering Croatia's clean energy goals.
In addition to Ljubovo, DRI is advancing the Brda Umovi wind farm, which will generate 156.3 MW in two phases, with grid connection expected by 2026. DRI is also developing the Vedrine solar park (60 MWp), slated to begin operation in 2027.
The company is interested in securing long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and participating in Croatia’s Contract for Difference scheme. DRI’s portfolio across its markets now includes 1.4 GW of projects in various stages of development.
