Encavis Acquires 95MW Solar Project in Spain from BayWa r.e.

German wind and solar parks operator Encavis AG has bought a solar project under construction in the Spanish region of Andalucia with a targeted capacity of around 95MW.

The Almodovar solar park, located near Cordoba, was purchased from German renewables company BayWa r.e. AG, the parties announced in separate statements on Wednesday.

The solar farm, which will be equipped with monocrystalline modules mounted on single axis trackers, is expected to go live in the fourth quarter of 2025. Once commissioned, it will generate 187 GWh of clean electricity annually.

About 76% of the site’s output has already been contracted under a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with sustainable packaging firm Huhtamaki.

With the latest acquisition, Encavis’ Spanish portfolio is now expected to top 800 MW at the end of 2025.
