GLS Spain has announced a partnership with Endesa to accelerate its goal of fully electrifying its delivery fleet and enhancing sustainable operations.
As part of this initiative, Endesa will set up EV charging infrastructure across up to 19 GLS locations in Spain. Some sites may feature over 100 charging points, with a mix of AC and DC options that support up to 300 kW. Specific details on the total number of chargers were not disclosed.
Primarily designed for GLS’s fleet, these chargers will also be available to employees, supporting their shift to electric vehicles with access to Endesa’s national charging network at favorable rates, enabling convenient charging beyond GLS facilities.
“This agreement with Endesa reflects our commitment to leading the change toward a more sustainable business model. “We are convinced that every step counts, and this represents significant progress in reducing our carbon footprint and enhancing efficiency at all levels of our operations, ” says Daniel López, Environmental director of GLS Spain.
The agreement also includes solar power initiatives. Over the next few years, GLS sites in Spain will see solar panel installations, starting with 155 panels that cover 300 square meters and have a total capacity of 78 kWp.
“The urgency for climate action is clear,” noted Davide Ciciliato, Endesa’s General Director of Commercialisation. “We’re supporting companies in shaping tailored energy decarbonization strategies with a comprehensive approach.”
