Endesa X has installed 1,346 photovoltaic modules on the roof of the Jaume Serra winery facilities in Vilanova i la Geltrú (Barcelona), the energy subsidiary reported in a statement on Friday.
The panels –with a power of 727 kWp– have been distributed over an area of 2,300 square meters and will produce energy in a “more sustainable” way, which will be fully self-consumed on the same location, literally.
The agreement includes the construction and start-up of nine photovoltaic solar installations for self-consumption in production centers throughout Spain.
Endesa's self-consumption
The García-Carrión group, owner of the cellar, has an energy supply contract until 2032 and with this action it is possible to "reduce" the carbon dioxide footprint by up to 252 tons of CO2 each year, explained Endesa X.
