Enefit Green and AFRY Partner on 1 GW Liivi Bay Offshore Wind Farm FEED

Enefit Green and AFRY have signed a contract for Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) services for the 1 GW Liivi Bay offshore wind farm in Estonia. This collaboration strengthens the development of the project, which aims to help reduce Estonia's reliance on electricity imports and meet renewable energy targets.

Johann-Gustav Lend, Head of Offshore Wind Energy at Enefit Green, emphasized the importance of both onshore and offshore wind energy in making electricity more affordable and sustainable. The Liivi Bay wind farm could cover half of Estonia’s current electricity consumption and significantly contribute to economic growth. The environmental impact assessment has been completed, and the project is awaiting final approval.

Jonathan Sistonen, Head of Business Unit Wind & Solar at AFRY, expressed pride in continuing the long-standing partnership with Enefit Green and supporting Estonia’s renewable energy goals. The FEED phase, which includes site assessments, layout optimization, foundation design, transport planning, and electrical design, is crucial for preparing for the Estonian CfD auction in Q3 2025.

The Liivi Bay wind farm, located in the Gulf of Riga, will feature up to 84 turbines and produce up to 4 TWh annually. Construction is expected to begin in 2028 and finish by 2030, making a key contribution to Estonia’s energy independence and sustainable future.
