Energiekontor AG, a leading German project developer and operator of wind and solar parks based in Bremen, has successfully commissioned the Seukendorf solar park in Bavaria at the beginning of November 2024.
With a total nominal capacity of around 12 MWp, the park is expected to generate approximately 13.6 million kWh annually, enough to supply over 3,800 German households with renewable energy and save about 9,400 tonnes of CO2 each year.
The Seukendorf solar park is part of Energiekontor’s growing proprietary portfolio, which now totals around 395 MW, spread across 37 wind parks and two solar parks. The park operates under a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA), contributing to Energiekontor's electricity generation income.
Energiekontor’s power generation segment is set to expand further, with four solar parks totaling 180 MW and three wind parks totaling 42 MW currently under construction. This will increase the company’s proprietary portfolio to over 610 MW.
Among the upcoming projects are the Letschin and Königsfeld solar parks, set to be completed in early 2025, with a combined capacity of approximately 65 MW.
Peter Szabo, CEO of Energiekontor, emphasized the strategic significance of the Seukendorf solar park's commissioning: “This marks another key milestone in our sustainable growth strategy. The expansion and diversification of our portfolio enhance the stability and financial strength of our business model, allowing us to better manage weather fluctuations and increase the proportion of recurring income from our own energy generation.”
