Energiekontor is all set to develop three solar parks with a total capacity of 130MWp in Germany. The company has already obtained approval for the same.
The solar parks will be built in Dettmannsdorf, in the district of Western Pomerania-Rugen.
The company has secured power purchase agreements (PPAs) for the solar parks with a maturity of 15 years.
According to Energiekontor, the solar parks are operated “without public EEG compensation and provide long-term income for the municipalities, the property owners, and the agricultural company,” a report stated.
It has been informed that these solar parks will save around 80,000 tonnes of CO2 annually. Once they come into operation, the parks will be able to supply around 40,000 households with power.
Peter Szabo, CEO of Energiekontor AG, commented, "It is a milestone for Energiekontor and for our local partners. We are pleased to have been the first company to successfully pass the newly established review process in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in close consultation with the local authorities.”
He further stated that the company has also planned for further expansion of solar business.
The construction of solar parks is likely to start early next year and commissioning is likely in 2024.
