ENNA Solar, a Croatian energy company part of ENNA Group, has signed an agreement with Austria’s Kraftfeld Energy to acquire a ready-to-build 87.52 MW solar project in Romania.
Construction is set to begin in the third quarter of 2025, with the plant expected to be operational and connected to the grid by the third quarter of 2026.
The €60 million investment represents ENNA Solar’s first large-scale international project and one of its biggest green energy investments to date, said Boštjan Napast, President of ENNA Group. The plant, located in Giurgiu County near Mihăilești, will cover 93 hectares and is expected to generate an average of 133 GWh annually.
This project supports ENNA Group’s broader development strategy, which includes a €330 million investment in solar energy both within Croatia and abroad over the next decade.
Alongside solar, ENNA is also developing wind farms, geothermal plants, and battery storage systems. The company already has around 50 MW of renewable energy projects in operation or nearing completion, with an additional 350 MW under development.
In the geothermal sector, ENNA is investing €240 million in two active projects in Croatia with a combined capacity of 35 MW.
