Enel Green Power Espana has achieved grid connection at a 180MW wind farm in Spain.
The wind farm is located in the town of Villar de los Navarros in Zaragoza.
According to the company, this is the developer’s largest wind farm in the country. The farm is named Tico Wind.
The project has an investment of €181m, the company stated.
Rafael Gonzalez, head of Enel Green Power Espana, commented, "With this project, we are reaffirming our commitment to continue strengthening the renewable generation mix in Spain, which will help comply with the country’s green energy objectives.
He was further quoted as saying “We are also leveraging on the abundance of renewable sources in Spain while actively promoting innovation and sustainability through the adoption of international best practices during the construction phase."
According to the company Enel Green Power Espana, it connected 19 wind farms to the grid in the last three years with a total combined capacity of 685MW. Those farms were located in Aragon, in the provinces of Teruel and Zaragoza.
The company informed that it manages 8390MW of renewable capacity in Spain in total.
