European Energy has successfully inaugurated its first solar project in Australia, the 58 MW Mokoan Solar Park in Winton, Victoria. Now in final performance testing, the project will generate clean energy for over 18,000 Australian households, reducing carbon emissions by 85,000 tonnes annually.
Completed ahead of schedule and under budget, Mokoan Solar Park represents the first step in European Energy’s 9 GW development pipeline in Australia. The company invested AUD 95 million into local and regional suppliers, creating 150 construction jobs and securing 8 ongoing operational roles. Additionally, AUD 400,000 is being allocated to community initiatives, benefiting local organizations, the Yorta Yorta people, and regional businesses.
CEO Knud Erik Andersen emphasized the company’s commitment to Australia, stating:
🔹 “This project underscores our long-term vision to support Australia’s clean energy transition while working closely with local communities and Traditional Owners.”
Selected for the Australian Government’s Capacity Investment Scheme, Mokoan Solar Park benefits from a long-term revenue safety net, ensuring investment stability. European Energy has also partnered with Odonata to enhance biodiversity across its renewable energy sites in Australia.
With full commercial operations expected by June 2025, this milestone reinforces European Energy’s ambition to deliver reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy at scale.
