UAE’s EWEC (Emirates Water and Electricity Company) has announced plans to conduct the Q2 auction for Clean Energy Certificates (CECs) in Abu Dhabi.
EWEC is a leading company in the integrated coordination of planning, purchasing and supply of water and electricity across the UAE.
To be noted, CECs will allow organizations to track and verify their clean energy consumption. It will further help them to decarbonize their overall operations.
The auction operator company informed that the registration for auctions is open and will continue till 14 June.
According to EWEC, it is responsible for implementing the CECs scheme.
“The scheme provides an effective tool for Abu Dhabi entities to demonstrate their commitment to a sustainable future, as well as showcase their tangible steps in reducing carbon emissions and supporting the UAE Net Zero by 2050 strategic initiative,” the company stated.
