Exus Renewables, a global independent power producer (IPP) and renewable energy leader, has signed a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Google to supply 35MW of clean electricity from the 51MW Cascante wind farm in Navarra, Spain.
This agreement strengthens Google’s commitment to 24/7 carbon-free energy while supporting Spain’s renewable transition under its National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP). The Cascante wind project is set to generate over 136GWh of clean electricity annually, powering more than 41,000 households and reducing nearly 17,000 metric tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year.
Facilitated through LEAP™ (LevelTen Energy’s Accelerated Process)—co-developed by Google and LevelTen Energy—the deal exemplifies an efficient approach to scaling clean energy procurement.
“We are proud to support Google’s sustainability efforts while accelerating Spain’s transition to renewable energy,” said Laurent Jouvin, Director of Operations and Energy Management at Exus Renewables.
Google’s Director of Energy Commercial Structuring, Will Conkling, added: “This partnership allows us to bring more affordable, reliable clean power to the grid as we work towards our 24/7 carbon-free energy goal by 2030.”
With Spain targeting 81% renewable electricity by 2030, wind energy plays a crucial role in meeting this goal, and the Cascante wind farm marks a significant step forward in that journey.
