France's latest tender for ground-mounted photovoltaic (PV) power capacity saw further price reductions, with 948.3 MWp of projects awarded. The tender, part of the PPE2 multi-year energy procurement program, slightly overshot its target of 925 MWp, with 120 projects securing winning bids.
The average price offered by successful bidders was EUR 79.28 (USD 83.62) per MWh, down from EUR 81.90/MWh in the previous round, which awarded 911.5 MWp of capacity.

Among the winners, French renewable energy leader Neoen SA secured the largest share, with 166.7 MWp, followed by Urbasolar with 124.1 MWp. TotalEnergies also took a significant portion, winning 68.7 MWp. Germany’s Energiekontor AG secured two projects totaling 41 MWp in Occitania.
This round is part of France’s PPE2 initiative, which aims to allocate nearly 29 GW of renewable capacity by the end of 2026 through various tenders. The next ground-mounted solar tender, targeting 925 MWp, will open for applications until December 20, 2024.
