Fugro has joined hands with Underwater Survey Technology 21 (UST21) for the offshore wind market in South Korea.
The duo is extending their collaboration in marine site characterisation in the Korean market.
It has been reported that Fugro has extended a memorandum of understanding with UST21. It comes after "strong demand for combined geophysical, geotechnical and metocean data services."
To be noted, the data service was launched in 2019 to support South Korea’s offshore wind ambition.
As per the latest agreement, Fugro will provide a comprehensive package of geo-data collection, interpretation and advice. It will be supported by UST21’s local hydrographic expertise.
Jerry Paisley, Fugro regional director for marine site characterisation, was quoted in a report, “We are pleased to announce the extension of our Memorandum of Understanding with UST21 in South Korea. We believe it demonstrates Fugro’s commitment to this emerging market and our desire to establish long-term relationships within Korea."
He further stated that the company aims to maximise the value and benefits of innovative digital solutions to address the needs of wind industry.
