Germany's Federal Network Agency has launched an auction for ground-mounted photovoltaic (PV) projects, inviting bids for a total capacity of 2.625 GW by March 3, 2025. The price cap for this round is set at EUR 0.068 (USD 0.071) per kWh, lower than last year’s EUR 0.0737 per kWh.
The maximum bid quantity for a single project remains capped at 20 MW. While Solar Package I, approved in 2024, allows for an increase to 50 MW, this change is still pending approval from the European Commission and cannot be implemented until granted.
The auction volume for 2025 is a total of 9.9 GW, distributed across three bidding rounds. Adjustments to the volume will be made in line with specific regulations, but the Federal Network Agency has not reduced it as per § 28a para. 6 EEG.
The submission deadline for this round is Monday, March 3, 2025, with bids due by 24:00 at the gate of the Federal Network Agency in Bonn.
