Germany’s energy regulator, Bundesnetzagentur, has received 524 bids totaling 4,708 MW in its latest tender for 2,148 MW of ground-mounted solar PV capacity. Following the exclusion of 45 bids, 242 projects were awarded contracts, amounting to 2,150 MW.
The average awarded bid price fell to €4.76c/kWh, marking a 6% decrease from the previous round’s €5.05c/kWh and the lowest level recorded since February 2019. Bid prices ranged from €3.88c/kWh to €4.95c/kWh.
The majority of awarded capacity was concentrated in Bavaria (120 projects, 916 MW), Schleswig-Holstein (21 projects, 213 MW), Lower Saxony (18 projects, 192 MW), Baden-Württemberg (20 projects, 176 MW), and Brandenburg (13 projects, 170 MW).
This follows previous oversubscribed solar auctions, where Bundesnetzagentur
allocated 2,234 MW across 326 bids in May 2024 (out of 4,100 MW submitted) and 2,152 MW across 268 bids in September 2024 (out of 4,206 MW submitted).
