Gransolar has kicked off the construction of a 82MW solar project in Portugal.
Gransolar’s EPC unit GRS started building the project, which is being developed by German investment and asset manager KGAL. It is designed by Ingenia Solar Energy.
The project is located in Penamacor in the Castelo Branco region in Spain.
According to the company, the solar plant has been subdivided into plots and follows the environmental guidelines. The solar farm will be connected into the Public Service Electricity Grid.
It has been informed that the Spanish company will handle both the operation and maintenance the plant initially.
Michael Ebner, Managing Director of KGAL Investment Management was quoted in a statement, "Our funds KGAL ESPF 4 and 5 are very successful with their strategy of investing in early- to mid-stage renewable energy projects. A prerequisite for this success is partnering with experienced EPC contractors such as GRS.”
The project is planned to go online in 2024.
