Anhui Huasun Energy Co Ltd said today it has signed a framework agreement with INERCOM Ltd to supply the Bulgarian engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company with at least 1.5 GW of its solar modules by the end of 2025.
Huasun, a relatively young Chinese manufacturer, will provide its Himalaya series heterojunction (HJ) modules for INERCOM's large-scale utility projects in Bulgaria.
The parties struck the deal on Monday after in 2021 Huasun supplied 86 MW of its HJT solar modules for a utility solar project of INERCOM in southern Bulgaria. Under the supply plan, the Chinese company will deliver more than 500 MW of modules to INERCOM by the end of 2023.
According to Huasun, the agreement makes it the world's first company to win GW-level orders in the HJT field.
Set up in 2020, Huasun has 2.7 GW of annual capacity for HJT solar cells and the same for HJT modules. It was listed as a Tier 1 solar module manufacturer by BloombergNEF for the first quarter of 2023 and was the only company in the list that is focused on HJT technology, which combines features of conventional crystalline solar cells and the thin-film technology.
