Iberdrola and Gres Panaria Portugal, the leading Portuguese ceramics company, have signed a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) set to start in 2025.
The deal guarantees the supply of 92 GWh of clean photovoltaic solar energy, helping Gres Panaria reduce its carbon footprint and enhance its sustainability practices.
This agreement aligns with Gres Panaria's long-term environmental goals, enabling the company to reduce energy market volatility risks and stabilize energy costs. It also supports their commitment to producing sustainably while maintaining the highest product quality.
Marco Mussini, Chairman of Gres Panaria Portugal, emphasized that sustainability is at the heart of the company’s strategy, reinforcing its commitment to integrating sustainable practices across its operations. Meanwhile, Rui Afonso, Managing Director of Iberdrola Clientes Portugal, highlighted the company’s role in the decarbonization of industry, contributing to both local and European climate targets.
