Iberdrola kicks off commissioning of 50MW wind farm in Poland

Iberdrola has kicked off commissioning of the 50MW Korytnica 2 wind farm in Poland. The Korytnica 2 wind farm is located some 80 km from Warsaw in the province of Węgrów. The Korytnica 2 part at the Pniewnik substation was energised towards the end of last year, enabling first power export. It has been informed that the wind farm consists of 14 Vestas V126 wind turbines with the total capacity of 50.4MW. According to the company, this facility will come into full operation in 2023. With the operation, it will bring Iberdrola's onshore wind capacity in Poland to 163MW. The company shared that its Zopowy wind farm (30MW) and Korytnica 1 wind farm (82.5MW) are already in operation. The Korytnica 2 project had considered the carbon footprint “including the improvement of soil conditions in some of the foundations.” It has been informed that the project's output will be sold through a power purchase agreement to Norway's Statkraft.
