Iberdrola has obtained a favorable Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the development of the Ciudad Rodrigo photovoltaic project, which will be located in this Salamanca municipality.
This new solar energy production facility, which will have an output of 318 megawatts (MW), will generate enough clean energy to supply 150,000 homes per year and prevent the emission of 75,000 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere per year.
With an investment of €200 million, the construction of this photovoltaic plant, with more than 826,000 modules, will have a significant local component. It is expected that up to 800 professionals will be involved in the project during peak periods.
