The Japanese company Olympus Corporation announced that it is sourcing 100% of the power from renewable sources.
The company started using renewable sources at its R&D and manufacturing sites in Japan from April this year.
According to the company, this will bring down CO2 emissions from its facilities in Japan by approximately 40,000 tons annually.
A report mentioned, "The percentage of the group's total electricity use in fiscal 2023 from renewables is expected to substantially increase from 14% in the previous fiscal year to about 70%."
To be noted, Olympus has set a goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2030. Besides, the company has already introduced extensive initiatives to reduce CO2 emissions. It is using 100% renewable energy at some manufacturing sites in Europe and the United States.
