Japanese firms are leading supplier for geothermal power projects

These firms accounted for the majority of global geothermal equipment.

Japanese firms are the leading supplier of equipment for geothermal power projects, BMI Country Risk & Industry Research reported.

The report noted that Japanese firms accounted for 67% of the total geothermal capacity recorded across 9 markets.

The two most notable companies in Japan are Toshiba Corporation and Fuji Electric Company, which provided for 1,1281 megawatts and 945MW, respectively.

“We maintain our outlook that Japanese firms will remain the dominant players in providing equipment for geothermal power projects,” BMI noted.

Meanwhile, it also projected that Kenyan firms will be well placed for the development of geothermal capacity in Sub-Saharan Africa.
