Matrix Renewables is all set to begin a 129MW solar farm in Spain.
For this, the company has secured a new long-term financing agreement with Natixis. The project is located at Almonte in Huelva.
It has been reported that the latest financing has been "certified as a green loan and complies with all the principles that aim to promote sustainability and projects with clear environmental benefits."
According to the company, the project is divided into three plants. It aims to add a storage facility following the commissioning of the project.
The project is expected to begin operations in the first quarter of 2023.
Matrix Renewables chief financial officer Nicolas Navas was quoted, “This agreement represents the power of collaboration and continued support for renewable energy development. The support from the financial industry, national and international, to Matrix represents the fourth long term financing completed across three countries in the last six months totaling more than $578M."
He further stated that the company aims to secure more long-term financing agreements in the future in the home market of Spain.
