MN Holdings Berhad, a specialist in infrastructure utilities construction and engineering solutions, has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, MN Power Transmission Sdn. Bhd. (MNPTSB), has secured two contract agreements valued at RM29.7 million from Fabulous Sunview Sdn. Bhd. (FSSB), a subsidiary of Sunview Group Berhad.
The agreements, signed on 21 April 2025, appoint MNPTSB as the Interconnection Facilities (IF) Contractor for two large-scale 29.99 Megawatt Alternating Current (MWac) solar power plant projects in Mukim Sungai Petani, Daerah Kuala Muda, Kedah. The scope of work includes the construction of new interconnection facilities and the extension of two 132-kilovolt (kV) bays at the existing Aman Jaya transmission main intake (PMU). The project is scheduled to commence upon receipt of the Notice to Proceed (NTP) and will be completed within 10 months.
Datuk Dang Siong Diang, Executive Director of MN Holdings, emphasized the strategic importance of the projects in advancing Malaysia’s renewable energy objectives.“These projects reinforce our strong support for Malaysia’s green energy agenda and highlight our continued involvement in the nation’s shift toward cleaner, renewable sources of power,” he stated.“By delivering essential interconnection works, we are enabling the integration of large-scale solar energy into the national grid, contributing to a more sustainable and resilient power ecosystem.”
The contract awards align with the Malaysian government’s Large Scale Solar (LSS) programme and the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), both key initiatives aimed at increasing the country’s renewable energy capacity and achieving its net-zero ambitions.
In a related development, MN Holdings also secured a separate RM5.2 million contract for the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of interconnection facilities for a 14.99MWac solar power plant under the Corporate Green Power Programme (CGPP) in Kuala Ketil, Kedah.
These latest project wins further cement MN Holdings’ role as a significant contributor to Malaysia’s renewable energy infrastructure growth, strengthening its presence in the interconnection and grid solutions sector.
