MSpectrum and Excelitas Technologies Launch Solar Initiative in Laguna


MSpectrum Inc., the solar arm of Manila Electric Company (Meralco), has forged a strategic alliance with Excelitas Technologies Philippines, Inc., the local branch of Excelitas Technologies Corporation based in the U.S., to implement a solar energy project in Cabuyao, Laguna.


As part of the collaboration, MSpectrum will develop a 116 kilowatt-peak (kWp) solar facility at Excelitas' manufacturing site, with an anticipated completion date in December 2024. The facility is projected to produce around 165,998 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean energy each year.


This project is set to help Excelitas decrease its carbon emissions by approximately 751 metric tons annually, which is comparable to planting over 5,430 trees or eliminating over 470,000 kilometers of vehicle travel each year.


Ike Sonoy, Senior Director of Operations at Excelitas Technologies Philippines, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “Working with MSpectrum is a significant move towards harnessing renewable energy. We are excited about future collaborations.”


Patrich Henry T. Panlilio, Chief Operating Officer of MSpectrum, emphasized the importance of this partnership, assuring that Excelitas will receive top-notch quality and dependable service. “We are dedicated to helping Excelitas achieve its financial and sustainability objectives through solar energy,” he said.
