Nigerian Breweries Plc has taken a significant step towards achieving its goal of a 100% renewable energy transition for its Lagos and Ama Breweries by signing a power purchase agreement with UK-based energy developer and investor Konexa. This agreement is part of the company’s broader business strategy and aligns with its sustainability initiative, "Brew a Better World."
At the official signing ceremony held at the company’s head office in Iganmu, Lagos, Managing Director Hans Essaadi highlighted the importance of this milestone in the journey towards renewable energy. The project will be supported by Climate Fund Managers (CFM), which will provide development funding through its EU-supported Climate Investor One fund, along with contributions from Konexa and third-party co-financiers.
Also, Chief Executive Officer, Konexa, Pradeep Pursnani, said the company is excited to be part of a project aimed at helping NB Plc move toward a more reliable and sustainable power source in its operations.
