Neoen, the French renewable energy developer, has secured seven new solar and agrisolar projects totaling 164 MWp in the latest round of tenders by the French Energy Regulation Commission.
These new projects strengthen the company’s position in the French ground-mounted solar sector, bringing its cumulative awarded capacity to 642 MWp under the PPE21 tenders.
With these wins, Neoen's total secured capacity in France now exceeds 2.5 GW, with new solar plants expected to be commissioned between 2026 and 2029. The 73 MWp Tourneuve project, however, is set for completion in 2032 due to necessary network upgrades by the grid operator.
The company plans to work closely with local and state authorities to ensure that the projects align with community needs, energy requirements, and environmental goals. Guillaume Decaen, Neoen's business development director for France, expressed pride in the achievement, thanking local stakeholders and farmers for their support in securing the necessary approvals.
2023 was a record year for Neoen in France, with nearly 500 MW of solar and wind capacity awarded in CRE tenders. The latest projects include four agrivoltaic sites, reflecting the company’s focus on integrating renewable energy with agricultural practices.
Neoen’s CEO, Xavier Barbaro said, “I would like to congratulate the Neoen team on this success, which reflects our sustained commitment to developing high-quality projects. “Thanks to our significant pipeline in solar, wind and storage, we are determined to further strengthen our contribution to the energy transition, in France and around the world.”
