Nolato, a global manufacturer specializing in polymer products across various industries such as medical, telecom, and automotive, has secured a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with renewable energy provider Better Energy. This agreement will enable Nolato to source renewable energy to power its operations in Sweden, a key component of its strategy to reduce carbon emissions by 80% by 2025.
The PPA will help Nolato lower its environmental impact and enhance the company's energy stability by mitigating exposure to electricity price fluctuations. Christer Wahlquist, CEO of Nolato, emphasized the dual benefits of the agreement—strengthening its sustainability initiatives while making sound financial decisions.
Better Energy's partnership with Nolato underscores the growing trend among industrial manufacturers to adopt renewable energy PPAs to power their operations with green electricity. The agreement also supports the construction of a new solar park near Studsvik, southwest of Stockholm, which will generate 25 GWh annually, of which Nolato will purchase more than half.
This collaboration highlights the potential for large manufacturers to contribute to clean energy growth while reducing their environmental footprint.
