Independent power producer BNZ has signed its first EPC contract of 2025 with Proef to develop the Muro Solar PV Plant in Trofa, Porto district. With a capacity of 28.37 MWp, the plant is expected to produce 43.68 GWh annually, avoiding over 14,000 tons of CO₂ emissions each year. The project is slated to go live in Q2 2026.
This milestone follows BNZ’s first PPA in Portugal, signed in October 2024, and signals the company’s growing footprint in Southern Europe’s renewable energy market.
The project is backed by:
Proef (EPC partner)
Andersen (legal advisor)
Enertis (technical consultant)
TripleWatt (project developer)
BNZ CEO Luís Selva emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership in advancing clean energy in Europe. Engineering Director Daniel Sanchez called it a step toward 100% sustainable power solutions.
Proef’s leadership also celebrated the deal, calling the Muro project a benchmark for regional decarbonisation and innovation. The project is expected to generate local economic benefits and create jobs, aligning with BNZ’s mission of driving both environmental and community impact.
With this initiative, BNZ continues progressing toward its goal of a 1.7 GW renewable energy portfolio across Europe.
