PENTAGAB and KGAL Energize 82-MW Solar Park in Portugal

PENTAGAB Lda and KGAL Gmbh & Co KG have put into operation an 81.91-MWp solar photovoltaic (PV) park in the Portuguese town of Penamacor, the local government announced on Friday.

Named Cabeca Vermelho, the plant should be capable of generating 181.3 GWh of clean electricity, enough to meet the demand of more than 60,000 local families.

The PV park was developed by P2K Renovaveis Lda, a company created by PENTAGAB and KGAL specifically for the construction of solar parks and their respective infrastructure. This initiative represented an investment of EUR 80 million (USD 89.3m).

Antonio Luís Beites Soares, president of the Penamacor Town Council, noted that other similar projects will be implemented in the town and neighbouring municipalities, benefiting the local economy.
