PH, Saudi Arabia to develop a road map for energy cooperation

This will be completed in three months.

Energy officials from the Philippines and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be holding bilateral meetings to develop the roadmap for the implementation of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) on energy cooperation that the countries signed last month.

According to Manila’s Department of Energy, the roadmap will be finalised in three months and presented to both governments’ energy chiefs.

Inked on 14 October, the MOU outlines key areas of collaboration, including petroleum derivatives, native hydrogen exploration, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), digital technology for electrical systems management, and energy efficiency.

The MOU also emphasises cooperation on energy efficiency and conservation. By partnering with Saudi Arabia, the Philippines seeks to adopt the latest energy efficiency technologies and best practices that could lower energy consumption, reduce costs, and contribute to sustainability.
