Q Energy has closed a 76MW solar portfolio deal in Spain.
The subsidiary of the South Korean company Hanwha Solutions closed the sale to an international investor with a focus on renewable energy.
It has been informed that the portfolio consists of two separate solar sites with 38.3MW capacity each. The projects are located in the municipalities of Manzanares and Brazatortas in the province of Ciudad Real.
According to the company, the project’s construction work is underway while both developments are likely to start operations in 2024.
Under the arrangement, Q Energy informed that it would supply modules on trackers for the projects. Besides, the transaction includes agreements for construction, operation, and maintenance of the plants.
Head of Green Energy Solutions Division Jaehan Lee was quoted in a statement, "We are experiencing a high demand for high-quality PV projects and for cooperation with experienced developers who can also take over the construction and subsequent operation and maintenance of the systems.”
He further stated, “The negotiations for the current sale were completed after only three months. We are also considering the transaction of further selected projects.”
The company plans to first execute existing projects and expand its pipeline in the country. To be noted, it has a development pipeline of around 15GW in Europe with a 6GW pipeline in Spain alone.
