Germany-based green power developer Q Energy Solutions SE said on Thursday it had started building two solar farms with a combined generation capacity of 105 MW in southern Spain.
The sites are located next to each other in Cordoba province, and each will host a solar farm of 52.5 MW. Q Energy’s teams will install over 190,000 high-performance solar modules on trackers for the two projects, the company said.
Commissioning of the plants is expected in 2024.
The projects were developed by Q Energy, which said that it has a 6,000-MW pipeline in Spain.
Q Energy is the sister company of solar PV products manufacturer Qcells and both form the energy subsidiary of South Korean diversified enterprise Hanwha Solutions Corp.
