R.Power Renewables has achieved a significant milestone by securing 655 MW of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity in the recent capacity auction held by Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne S.A. (PSE).
As part of a 17-year agreement that will begin in 2029, R.Power Renewables will invest in four BESS projects with a combined storage capacity of 2.3 GWh.
These projects are projected to generate an estimated 1.6 billion PLN (376 million EUR) in revenue through the capacity market over the term of the agreement.
The 17-year contract ensures long-term financial stability, providing a solid revenue stream for R.Power Renewables. In addition to strengthening grid reliability, the BESS systems will enhance power grid operations, support market arbitrage, and contribute to Poland’s broader energy transition goals, improving grid flexibility and sustainability.
