Ranhill has inked a deal for detailed design engineering services of a platform in Malaysia which will be powered by renewable energy.
Perunding Ranhill Worley (PRW), a subsidiary of Ranhill, will handle the project and will be deployed at a Shell-operated gas project offshore Malaysia.
Besides, the company will also go through follow-on engineering of a fixed solar-powered offshore platform for the Rosmari-Marjoram gas project which will also be powered by renewable energy.
According to the company, this deal was made possible through Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings Berhad. The project’s contract value is said to be over $3.4 million.
It has been informed that the platform will be powered by renewable energy, utilising power from solar panels.
The company shared that the solar-powered platform will cater for up to 800 million standard cubic feet of gas every day with a start-up targeted in 2026. It has a design life of 20 years.
