Redeux Energy Partners LLC has announced the sale of a hybrid solar-plus-storage project located in Western Kentucky to Scout Clean Energy. This transaction highlights Redeux's strategy of partnering with leading companies in the renewable energy sector.
Scout Clean Energy, a Colorado-based firm under the management of Brookfield Asset Management, now owns the project, which features 200 MW DC of photovoltaic (PV) capacity along with a 40-MW/160-MWh battery energy storage system. While financial details of the deal were not disclosed, the hybrid facility is designed to deliver four hours of energy storage capacity and will be situated near an existing coal-fired power plant. It will connect to a MISO transmission switchyard adjacent to a 400-MW facility.
Aaron Bowlds, managing director of Thoroughbred, Redeux’s founding sponsor, stated, “Redeux was built to originate and deliver world-class renewable energy projects to industry-leading partners,” emphasizing that the sale aligns well with the company's objectives.
Currently, Redeux has a pipeline of approximately 7 GW of solar and 7 GWh of energy storage projects across various energy markets, including ERCOT, MISO, SERC, and WECC. The company plans to introduce another project portfolio to the market by the first quarter of 2025.
