Renalfa IPP, a Vienna-based developer and independent power producer, has acquired a 258 MWac photovoltaic (PV) project located in Teleorman, Romania. This acquisition underscores Renalfa IPP's commitment to advancing clean energy solutions throughout Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and marks a key milestone in its regional expansion strategy.
Set to begin commercial operations in 2027, the Teleorman PV project will play a crucial role in Romania's efforts to meet its decarbonisation targets and enhance energy security.
As part of the project’s future development, Renalfa IPP plans to integrate a 1000 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). This advanced storage technology will not only stabilise the grid but also optimise the use of renewable energy, facilitating a smoother transition to a more resilient and sustainable energy infrastructure.
Renalfa IPP is a joint venture formed between Renalfa Solarpro Group GmbH and the French infrastructure fund manager RGREEN INVEST. Through this acquisition, Renalfa IPP continues to demonstrate its active investment in renewable energy, further establishing its role as a significant contributor to Romania's growing clean energy market.
