RWE has commissioned the 44MW solar farm in Spain.
The Casa Valdes solar farm is located in the province of Guadalajara, spread at an area of about 97 hectares
According to the company, Casa Valdes is a ground-mounted photovoltaic plant. The solar project will be able to supply the green electricity to some equivalent of 30,000 Spanish homes every year.
The company has made installations of 97,740 bifacial modules in the solar farm.
“The advantage of this approach is that the bifacial cells are embedded in a double-sided glass module by which the solar radiation can be absorbed from both sides – the front and the back of the module. This will help to increase production,” the company said in a statement.
Meanwhile, RWE Europe solar chief Katja Wünschel was quoted, “The Spanish sun is a great partner of the energy transition. And innovative technologies like the bifacial modules used at Casa Valdes help us to make the best out of this energy source and this site.”
The company has been engaged in construction of other solar plants as well in Europe, including Spain. Regarding Spain as a core market for renewables, it has planned for further projects this year.
