RWE has secured 31 solar projects in Poland, totaling 102 MWdc (84 MWac), following a successful bid in the latest auction by the Polish regulator, Urząd Regulacji Energetyki (URE).
The majority of the projects have received permits and are set to begin construction in early 2025.
Katja Wünschel, CEO of RWE Renewables Europe & Australia, stated: “This achievement underscores our commitment to expanding solar energy in Poland. With 91 MWac already operational and over 100 MWac under construction, we are excited to deliver more projects to support the country’s energy transition.”
RWE is a major force in Poland’s renewable energy market, operating wind farms with 541 MW capacity and solar parks with 91 MWac. The company is also advancing its first Polish offshore project, the F.E.W. Baltic II offshore wind farm.
