Energy giant Shell has made acquisition of 12 solar projects with a total capacity of 1100MW in Spain.
The acquisition has been made from Spanish player Isemaren. It has been informed that the projects are located in different regions across the country.
According to a local report, the latest development is followed by a framework agreement signed last year between Shell and the consultancy firm specialising in green investment and ecological transition.
“Bringing these assets into our portfolio strengthens our presence in one of Europe’s largest solar power markets,” Shell global renewable generation vice president Thomas Brostrøm, was quoted in a statement.
Meanwhile, Shell Spain chairman and business manager Óscar Fernández remarked, “It’s exciting news and further strengthens Shell’s presence and portfolio in Spain, one of Europe’s largest solar power markets.”
