Siemens Gamesa has sealed a deal for a 50MW wind farm in Spain.
The company inked its first turbine contract with Turkish energy investor Kinesis Enerji. The wind farm is located in the north of Spain.
According to the company, the wind farm will be "equipped with 10 Siemens Gamesa 5.0-145 machines."
The wind project is expected to be commissioned in the first half of 2024.
Meanwhile, the company has expected that the construction of the wind farm will enhance the company's presence in Spain.
It has been informed that the 10 nacelles will be assembled at the Agreda, Soria, plant, while Gearboxes will be produced at the factories at Asteasu in Guipúzcoa, Lerma in Burgos and the city of Burgos.
Siemens Gamesa Spain managing director Javier Fernández-Combarro commented, “It is great news we have signed this contract with Kinesis Enerji, the first in Spain and the second globally, as I believe this will strengthen our relationship and trigger many more agreements in the future."
He further stated that the company has signed four different contracts in Spain recently with a total capacity of more than 200MW.
“Once installed, this will add to the 15 GW we already have in Spain," he informed.
