Global developer of floating offshore wind farms Simply Blue Group has set an ambition to develop around 2GW of floating offshore wind farms.
For this, the company has formed an Iberian floating wind venture with Proes Consultores and FF New Energy Ventures. The company has focused on offshore winds in Spain and Portugal.
The company has already presented its strategic plans for the market. In Spain IberBlue Wind will be focused in Andalusia and Galicia, while in Portugal, it will focus on the central and northern parts of the country.
Simply Blue Group has projects in Ireland, UK, US, Poland, and Sweden with a pipeline of 10GW of projects under development. Now, the company has decided to move towards the Spanish and Portuguese markets.
Regarding Proes Consultores, it offers engineering, industrial and technological services, while FF New Energy Ventures is active in development and operation of solar photovoltaic and renewable energy plants in Spain. It has also added offshore wind energy.
It has been reported that the company is developing solar PV, wind and BESS projects in Spain and Portugal. It has worked on a portfolio of 2GW already in these two countries.
A report mentioned that “IberBlue Wind will participate in the public auctions for offshore sites off Spain and Portugal.”
